John Anthony Martinez is a highly accomplished drummer with an impressive track record in the music industry. John was born and raised in the Bronx, New York, and began playing drums at the age of 5. He quickly gained recognition for his talent and passion for music. As a young classically-trained musician, he drew inspiration from a diverse range of genres such as Jazz, Rock, Latin, Fusion, Gospel, Pop, and R&B. John began playing professionally at 14 and developed a reputation as a versatile and dynamic drummer. By the time he turned 16, he had already performed at world-famous New York venues such as Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center, and CBGBs.

John has studied at several prestigious institutions worldwide, including LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts, Colgate University, Berklee College of Music, Oxford University, Henley Business School, Ashridge - Hult International Business School, Draper University, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

John is also an esteemed educator and has been invited as a guest speaker or lecturer at various institutions globally, such as Oxford University, the Academy of Contemporary Music in London, the Collective School of Music in New York City, Singapore Polytechnic, Ashridge - Hult International Business School, Dallas City Hall, GM Financial Group, 9 Beats, and the International Leadership of Texas, among others. He is known for his ability to inspire and motivate aspiring drummers of all ages and skill levels and has shared the stage with Global Drumming Ambassador Dom Famularo several times.

In 2014, John co-founded Rhythm Intensive with legendary electric bassist Dr. Chuck Rainey. Rhythm Intensive is an organization that provides intensive music instruction and mentorship to students worldwide. They co-authored the highly acclaimed book, The Tune of Success: Unmask Your Genius, published in 2017. In 2020, John published his book, Brazilian Rhythms for Drum Set, under 9 Beats Education Technology Group. In 2022, Rhythm Intensive partnered with iCode Schools to create a music and computer coding curriculum called Digital DJ—Making Music with Sonic Pi.
